eLearning Council (ELC)

Leadership and Innovation Award

Phebe Shen and team members Ann Harrington, Marcia Huntington, Lolly Smith, of Everett Community College, received the 2008 Winner of eLearning Council Leadership and Innovation Award for their online English 101 collaborative project that involved the use of blogs and an e-portfolio. Shen receives $200 and funds to attend the Pacific NW Higher Education Teaching and Learning Conference in May. The eLearning Council plans to continue this award in the future.

Purpose

The purpose of the ELC shall be to perform tasks and coordinate efforts relating to elearning as assigned by the Instruction Commission and to communicate elearning instructional concerns and issues to the Instruction Commission. The ELC, under the broad direction of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, advises the Instruction Commission on matters concerning elearning. - eLearning Council Constitution, Articles 2 & 3.
