The SBCTC
Data Warehouse is derived primarily from the data collected by the two-year public
community and technical college management information system. It includes student,
course, personnel, facilities and equipment, financial aid, transcript and completion
data collected since 1986. Related data is also collected from GED testing centers,
universities, community-based organizations, and other state agencies.
The
Data Warehouse is an SQL server production database used for executive
policy-making and decision support in the areas of funding and enrollment allocation, enrollment forecasting, research, performance and outcomes, and studies mandated by statute.
The Data Warehouse supports external agency requests for data and
information. Some external agencies include the Office of Financial Management, the Higher
Education Personnel Board, the Washington Student Achievement Council, the Workforce Training and
Education Coordinating Board, the Washington State Legislature, the National Center for
Education Statistics, and the Department of Education.
The SBCTC Data Warehouse is a primary
source for college and local research efforts.
