ABE / ESL / GED Preparation

Adult and Family Literacy learning options exist to help adults become literate. Literacy is defined by the Federal Adult Education and Family Literacy Act as an individual's ability to read, write, and speak in English, compute and solve problems, at levels of proficiency necessary to function on the job, in the family of the individual, and in society.

Adult Basic Education (ABE), English as a Second Language (ESL), and preparation to pass the GED tests help adults improve their English language reading, writing, and speaking skills, their math skills, and problem-solving skills so they can be more successful as workers and family and community members.

Integrated Programs for Low-Income Students (I-BEST)

I-BEST pairs ESL/ABE instructors with professional-technical instructors in the classroom to provide students with literacy education and workforce skills at the same time.
