BEtter skills. Better jobs. Building a Stronger Washington.

With the support of Governor Gregoire, this week provides an opportunity for ABE providers and partners to increase public awareness and understanding about adult basic education and the way it assists Washington state to meet its economic and workforce goals.

This project is supported by the state’s Adult Education Advisory Council and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.

Goals for Adult Literacy Week activities are to:

  • Increase awareness of adult literacy programs in the community.
  • Increased awareness of literacy among elected officials.
  • Increased visibility of programs, both in the community and within the college.
