The WA ABE Literacy Resource Center provides a collection of over 2,000 professional items in the field of adult education. Our collection includes books written by instructors, policy makers and researchers, videos from major production companies, professional journals, assessment tools, core curriculum materials, and research results.

Besides providing on-site library services, the Resource Library is a free mail-order lending library for anyone in the northwest region (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Wyoming, Montana) working in adult literacy and basic skills. The materials may be borrowed for four weeks at no charge. We provide a searchable library catalog via the below link. Anyone with a standard Web browser can search the on-line library from any location on the Internet. Loan requests can be made by mail, email, fax, or by calling Professional Development Services. Up to 10 items may be checked out at a time. We limit videos from the same series to three per patron.

 We have moved many of our library items to the Teachers' Resource Page.  Many items that were only available through checkout have been converted to PDF documents and are now available on-line.  The resources are arranged by subject area.  Please note that some of these documents are quite large and may require considerable time to completely download to your computer.  Remember that you do not have to print the whole document, you can print out specific pages that are of interest.  If you are unable to download a document, please contact the Resource Center to request assistance.
