Displaced Homemaker Program
Individuals who have spent at least 10 years as unsalaried homemakers and now need to support either themselves or their families, receive intensive career counseling, job search assistance and other help through the Displaced Homemaker Program. Circumstances leading a homemaker to be displaced include the death or disability of a spouse, divorce, separation or abandonment.
The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges administers the program with guidance from a statewide advisory committee.
