Community and technical college board meets Oct. 22-23 in Bellingham
OLYMPIA – The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 22-23, at Bellingham Technical College.
The agenda includes adoption of the community and technical college system’s 2004 legislative agenda, focusing on operating and capital supplemental budget requests and policy priorities.
Also featured will be a discussion of tuition and financial aid issues facing two-year colleges and their students, as well as funding priorities for the future.
The agenda for the two-day meeting includes reports on two college-system grant projects and a new website being developed in collaboration with the Association of Washington Business to link businesses seeking training with the opportunities provided by community and technical colleges.
The meeting will begin with a study session Wednesday from 1 to 5:15 p.m. The regular session will be Thursday from 8:15 to 11:10 a.m. Both sessions will be in Building G at Bellingham Technical College, 3028 Lindbergh Avenue.
In addition, the board has scheduled a dinner meeting Wednesday with the Bellingham Technical College Board of Trustees. All meetings are open to the public.
