October 27, 2009 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) will meet at Skagit Valley College on Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30. Key topics include the system mission, a joint session with the Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB), and the awarding of the first Student Achievement Initiative funds totaling $1.8 million to the 34 system colleges.

September 22, 2009 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet Friday, Sept. 25 for its regular business meeting to consider approval of contracts and grants related to a weatherization training program and student achievement initiatives.

August 31, 2009 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold a special meeting via telephone conference on Wednesday, Sept. 2, to consider the approval of a project contract to update college administrative computer applications.

July 28, 2009 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Clover Park Technical College in conjunction with the Higher Education Coordinating Board meeting. Two collaborative initiatives, the Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board’s System Design Plan and the State Board for Community and Technical College’s Mission Study, will be discussed.

June 16, 2009 - Shaunta R. Hyde, Lake Forest Park, has been appointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire as the newest member of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.

June 4, 2009 - Five Washington community and technical college faculty members received the 2009 Anna Sue McNeill Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Award during the Pacific Northwest Higher Education Teaching and Learning Conference, held in May in Wenatchee.

May 4, 2009 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet at Lake Washington Technical College to take action on 2009-10 tuition rates, 2009-10 operating budget allocations, and 2009-11 capital budget allocations.

March 27, 2009 – The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on Wednesday, April 1, and Thursday, April 2, at the State Board office in Olympia to discuss Legislative and budget issues and 2009-11 tuition rates.

February 6, 2009 - Enrollments at Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges have reached historic levels. With nearly 134,000 quarterly full-time equivalent students (FTES), enrollments were up more than 9,000 over last fall.

February 2, 2009 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and Thursday, Feb. 5, at the State Board office in Olympia to discuss Legislative issues, budget reductions, the 2008 fall quarter enrollment report, and results of a study which analyzed the return on investment of Washington’s community and technical college workforce education programs.
